CYO Sports

​

Ascension students participate in a variety of sports through the parish Catholic Youth Organization. Among the many sports offered are Volleyball, basketball, soccer, and cheerleading. Please contact the school office for further information.

BAND

​

Students in grades 5-8 may participate in the Ascension Band Program through Carroll High School. Band rehearsals are held during the school day and during evenings at Carroll.  Mr. Carl Soucek, Carroll High School Band Chair moderates this program.

Power of the Pen​

Power of the Pen is open to students in grades 7-8. This creative writing program helps students find and develop their unique voice. Statewide competitions give students the opportunity to showcase their abilities. This program is moderated by Ms. Deardurff.

CHOIR

​

The school choir is open to students in grades 4-8. The choir sings at every school Mass and rehearses two mornings before school.   Stephanie Kline moderates the school choir.

SCIENCE FAIR

​

Students in grades 7 will participate in the Science Fair.

GIRLS ON THE RUN

​

GIRLS ON THE RUN is a physical activity-based positive youth development program for girls of all abilities. Girls in grades 3-5 are eligible for GOTR and girls in grades 6-8 are eligible for the Heart and Sole program. This program is sponsored by the Ascension PTO and must have parent support to be held. Mr. Himes is the head coach of this club.

MASS SERVERS

​

Students in grades 5,6,7, and 8 are trained each year to help serve at school and parish Masses. One fo the parish deacons train the students.  Serving as a mass attendant is an honor and a privilege, and may students volunteer for this activity.

Scouts

​

Ascension Parish oversees the scouting program for both Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts beginning in kindergarten. This activity requires parent leadership. Please contact the school office for further information.

JOOI

​

The junior high (grades 5,7, and 8) have the opportunity to join the Junior Optimist Club which meets monthly after school.  The club works on services projects for the school and outside community. The club is moderated by Mrs. Peg Gaby.

ART CLUB

​

Students in grades 3-8 may participate in the Art Club. Students will meet throughout the school year as directed by our art teachers, Ms. Damico.
